About

passion

I grew up in a small village in the region of Twente in the Netherlands. As a child, I spent a lot of time creating art. I drew almost every day and wrote my own stories and poems with illustrations. Already then, nature was a great source of inspiration, and art became a way for me to connect with myself and the Earth.

When I was around 15 years old, I discovered the healing qualities of mandala art. Drawing mandalas gave me a feeling of coming home. It also greatly inspired me to experiment with intuitive drawing and to study the effects of certain combinations of colours and shapes. As I drew more mandalas, I felt very inspired to create a specific artwork which appeared in my mind during meditation. This artwork became The Cosmic Eye.

“The work of art gives man a suspicion of something higher, something more noble than what the sensory environment gives him.”

mission

Expressing myself through creating art, as well as viewing artworks, is healing to me. In my experience, certain combinations of shapes and colours radiate specific energies that carry information. When viewing an artwork, this information can be absorbed by different layers of our being, beyond what we know as the physical world. This may explain why we feel attracted to certain artworks: maybe they touch us, because they communicatie something deeper.

My intention is to express the beauty and healing nature of life through my art, while enjoying this free form of self-expression. To see more of my work, please feel free to look around in the gallery.

Inspiration

My work is inspired by geometry, animals, plants, energy and the processes of life. Through my art, I wish to express what exists beyond the physical world we experience around us.

I particularly enjoy working with pencil and mixed media, combining graphite, coloured pencils, pastels, watercolour, and acrylic paint to create layered and intuitive compositions.
